Hi everyone! It’s been a while, huh?
As you can probably tell, the additional formats (ebooks, print) have been taking me longer than expected. This is both because of some technical hurdles I’ve encountered, as well as just not having a lot of time to work on the project.
Additionally, those formats are actually going to have to be put on hold for the time being, in lieu of another update. I recently discovered a better method of ripping the digital releases of the Papercutz Bionicle graphic novels, resulting in noticably better-looking copies of a lot of the comic pages used in Biological Chronicle. I plan to replace the existing digital comic rips with these new ones, in order to provide the best quality possible – but unfortunately, that isn’t as simple as just swapping out all those images. As you may already know, I had to make a large number of minor edits to various comic pages, to fix errors, remove extra text, and so on. Since these new rips are straight from the Papercutz graphic novels, all of those edits will have to be re-done before the new rips can be added to BC.
I do still absolutely intend to release all promised formats, but this step will have to come first. If you’d like to see these updates release faster, and you have image editing experience, I’m very open to others coming in to help get this task completed. Biological Chronicle is largely a one-woman operation, and so it takes quite some time to get all these things completed. If you’re interested in helping out, feel free to contact me at wynn@crosswiredgeeks.com.
One other thing: as some of you are likely aware, Twitter (the place where I tend to post smaller snippets about work/updates on Biological Chronicle and CWG as a whole) is looking like it may soon become a less viable platform for me to use. As such, I’m going to try to utilize the blog here more, posting in-progress info and status updates, rather than just a big post whenever a BC update is released. So if you want to stay on top of everything going on with the project, please consider subscribing to this blog!
I think that’s everything for now. Thanks so much to everyone that continues to follow and support my little project. I hope to have more updates to share with you soon.
